First grade families, We hope you have a restful break! Below you will find a snapshot at what your scholar will be learning after break! Math: The students will begin a new unit in measurement. This is a fairly short unit. We will focus on using the term "unit" as a form of measurement, properly measuring objects, and estimating measurements of objects. Literature: This week in Literature we will be learning about Aesop's Fables. We will learn what a moral is and discuss the morals for our first two fables: The Fox and the Grapes and The Goose and the Golden Egg. In poetry we will be starting to learn the poem, "The Little Turtle" by Vachel Lindsay. History: This week in History we will be starting our Early Civilizations of the Americas Unit.
